The Chicago Mercantile Exchange is reporting highly successful Bitcoin futures trading

Capital market interest in Bitcoin is rising steadily. Most recently, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) reported record figures in trading with Bitcoin futures.

As Tim McCourt, Managing Director of CME Group, recently told Forbes the Bitcoin futures are currently achieving an average of 7,237 contracts per day, representing an increase of 132 % over the prior year period. The CME Group ranks as one of the world’s largest options exchanges, and is the world’s largest futures exchange. Headquartered in Chicago, in the state of Illinois, CME was created by the merger of the  , Chicago Board of Trade and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange on July 12, 2007. CME launched Bitcoin futures in December 2017.
